  • Panglao became an independent parish in 1782.
  • The current church, initiated in 1894 by Recollect Fr. Valentin Utande and completed in 1925 by Rev. Fr. Emiliano Veloso, replaced the ruins of an older church, possibly built by Jesuits before 1768.
  • The church features unique 1920s ceiling artwork.
